About ECREl Camino Reelers is proud of over 13 years of dancing in the South Bay. Our club was founded in 1985 by Marilyn Martinyak and Pat Dixon as an alternative to the gay square dance clubs located an hour away in San Francisco. Each year we hold a set of FREE introductory sessions to introduce new people to our favorite pastime. Our intro nights are typically in September with lessons starting early October. We'd love to have you drop by, give it a try, and see if you'd like to stick around for some more. Our regular club dancing is every Wednesday from 7:30 to 9:30 at St. Andrew's Methodist Church in Palo Alto, just 20 minutes away from San Jose. The church is located at 4111 Alma Street. We provide a smoke-free and alcohol-free environment for gay men and lesbians to meet each other and socialize. And while we can make no guarantees, people have been known to find true love at a square dance! We're also an inexpensive way to have fun. At just $4.00 a night you're likely to spend more money going out for a snack afterwards than you are at the dance! (Yes, it's true--many of us do go out afterwards to replace all those lost calories...) |
