Club Information

Membership in ECR is available to any dancer who can demonstrate dance proficiency at the Callerlab Plus program. The El Camino Reelers club does not discriminate with respect to membership on any basis not directly related to the ability to participate in the activity.

General Membership and Fees

Each membership year begins October 1. Membership dues for those who join at other times may be prorated. Annual dues are $40. Benefits of General Membership include: Club directory, voting privileges, special event flyers, etc. (by e-mail unless otherwise noted), running for office on the Board of Directors, Dancer Insurance, and the knowledge that you are helping to support a positive force in the community.

Class registration for new dancers covers first year membership dues, free admission to club nights and dances (until class completion) and a club badge presented at graduation. The class registration fee is $135 if you pay the full amount by October 1 – a 10% discount! You may also pay in 2 installments of $75 each, due October 1 and January 1.

Current members wishing to re-take the beginner class may do so for half price ($75). Re-taking the class (instead of just coming to class nights as an “angel”) guarantees that you will always have a place to dance and will receive special attention from the instructor.

Box 391373, Mountain View, CA 94039-1373, or give it to any Board member. Once we have your contact information and payment, you will be automatically enrolled in the club online mailing list, ECRtalk.

Club e-mail lists

ECR has several e-mail lists for club members. Please contact a board member to find out how to join.

Here are the more common ones...

ecrtalk - announcements, general club information, and occasional topical discussion
ecradmin - usually for current and past board members but is open to those interested in the running of the club
ecrdinner - announcement about where to meet for dinner before dancing on club night
ecrflyin - minutes, discussion, and occasional voting while planning an upcoming ECR fly-in

Most of these are very low traffic and are usually the very best way to stay informed.

Club Roster

ECR distributes a membership roster in PDF format for the use of members (full members and students) only. People are only listed on the roster if they choose to be, and can opt out of showing specific information (e.g., home address) by indicating this on the registration form or by sending a request to information@reelers.org.

Rosters are distributed by email in December to paid-up members, and a current one can be requested at any time by contacting information@reelers.org.

The club also encourages members to post profiles on the IAGSDC roster website here. This allows our members to post photos of themselves if they wish. You will need to register with IAGDSC to see the roster.

General Membership Meeting

ECR holds their annual Membership Meeting in late November or early December. The club's by-laws require that the Board hold a meeting at least once per year to present financial information and other general information to the members of the club.
